Some of you might wonder, why I use the term Godly Man = Extra Ordinary Gentleman. Easy, for me a Godly Man must be a Gentleman. But something added to him that makes him more than just an ordinary Gentleman. What differs them? First, a Godly Man surely have the value of God, the wisdom of God, not the wisdom and understanding of man. And what makes a wisdom of God different from the wisdom of man. Or what makes an understanding of God different from the understanding of man.
Read Proverbs 9:10;
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Now of course, an ordinary Gentleman without God is impossible to possess the wisdom and understanding of God. And I dare to say that the wisdom and understanding of God is perfect, it is flawless, not like the one of a man. So a Godly Man must be a thousand times, even more, wiser than an ordinary Gentleman. Next, is their achievements. Imagine, an ordinary man trying to achieve things on this earth by his own strength which is limited, compared to a man trying to achieve the same thing, but by the power of God who is the creator of everything. Of course the results will be different. And I bet the achievements of a Godly Man is a thousand times, even more than the achievements of an ordinary Gentleman.
Now long time ago, The Holy Spirit revealed me this quote;
A Gentleman focuses on honor, pride, and dignity. But a Godly man focuses on love, compassion, and righteousness.

What are people chasing in this world, especially man? Easy, the three ultimate needs, LOVE, POWER, and MONEY. This is what the devil taught you! If you have these, then you will surely be happy! But God didn’t say that. His first law is clear in Matthew 22:36;
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
And the second law is also there at verse 39;
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
From this two laws, we can conclude that all of our life is about God and others, not ourself.
Now, recently I’ve been reminded of this quote;
A man’s dignity is determined by how far he can stand his ground, a man’s pride is determined by his achievements, a man’s worth is determined by what he can bring to the table.
Almost all ordinary Gentleman adopted this teaching. But let it be far from a Godly Man! Why? Isn’t this quote cool?
Okay, now I want you to pay attention of every statements written here. Then you will find that everything here is about You! From You, by You, and for You, Your pride, Your Honor, Your Dignity, You! You know whom do you sound like when you read this quote? Lucifer, the father of selfishness and arrogancy. Yes, this is one of his snares. This quote is foolish! I once was here and I was a fool! Do you know where this quote will lead you? It will lead you to selfishness, arrogancy, and materialism. Men will try their best focusing on how to collect more and more money, and becoming the best in everything, that people will see nobody else but You! It’s all about You! Leaving all the love and compassion towards others. No wonder many successful people suffer broken homes.
Now look at the life of Jesus Christ while he lived here on earth. He was born in a stable, living the life of a carpenter, and everything that He did here was for The Father and for the humans, not for himself, not about himself. He was hanged there on the cross, cursed by God, for You! He remembered your face and dare not to imagine how will it be living in Heaven without You!
Now I believe this quote was revealed to me by The Holy Spirit for the Godly Man;
A Godly Man’s dignity is determined by how strong can he bear the cross of Jesus Christ in his life, a Godly Man’s pride is The Lord, and a Godly Man’s worth is the most expensive price of the blood of Jesus Christ and how big is His love for his God.
So the ladies might now wonder, “Okay then now I should have a poor man, infamous, or precisely, a looser. Is that what you mean?”
Nope, this is not what God means. His Words haven’t done yet.
A Godly Man doesn’t speak about being a looser in every kinds of fields, of not being the best among others. The difference is that the first priority of a Godly Man is to seek the Kingdom of God, not the success, not the blessings, while and ordinary Gentleman seeks only the success and the blessings.
Read Matthew 6:31-33;
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Seek God first and everything will follow! Your hard works will yield their fruits because God blesses them. If you struggle to be the best, by His favor you will become the best. But the difference is you work hard for Him and others, not for yourself! Everything you do is about Him and others, not about yourself!
Read Zechariah 4:6;
Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.
I will give you examples from The Bible between a Godly Man and an ordinary Gentleman (you can skip this part if you wish) :
1. Abraham and Lot.
Abraham was older than Lot. He could choose first the land He wanted to stop the quarrel between them. But he humbled himself that time and let Lot chose first. And Lot chose the best land, well watered, like the garden of The Lord, but he didn’t care about the wicked people that inhabited the land there. And now look at the ending, Abraham was blessed marvelously, while Lot lost everything he got when Sodom and Gomorrah were punished by God.
2. David and his brothers.
Now look at King David. He was not as big and tough as his brothers when he was a boy. He was only a shepherd, while his brothers, mighty war soldiers. But David has never complaint to God about his job. His life was only about worshipping and seeking God. Seven times a day he came to worship God. He was a humble man, even until He became a king, he was still a humble man. You could read the entire book of Psalm, and discovered that David has never cared about all the wealth and power He possessed. He only longed for God’s words and to dwell in His presence. So you can see the ending of the story. David, from a shepherd to a king, while his brothers remain being war soldiers.
3. Daniel and the other young men.
That time, Daniel and some young men were trained for three years to be such special servants for the king of the Babylonians. All of the people might have competed one another, eating the best foods provided, and trained themselves well. But Daniel rejected to defile himself with the royal food. Instead, He asked only vegetables to eat. He loved His God. And the result was clear, Daniel was found healthier and well nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. More than that, God blessed him so bad that he was found ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
Conclusion :
Now you can decide to be just an ordinary Gentleman or to become an Extra Ordinary Gentleman. I was there before, trying to be such a Gentleman, to be the best all the time, having those high dreams, competed with others until I hurted myself. And I found out that life was somehow very tiring and distressing. But now after I let go of everything and follow God wholeheartedly, I believe blessings and success won’t be far, and I won’t be loosing from those ordinary Gentleman either. God won’t make ashame of His children. But all by His grace, not by my might or strength. As to become an Extra Ordinary Gentleman, I only long for this one thing in my life, that God will say this word to me one day, just as He has said about His servant David, “I have found Andreas, a man after My own heart, he will do everything I want him to do.”
God just hate arrogant people, but He loves the humble. Arise you, man of God!
